Best Proposal for Public Art (14 - 16)

Matthew Musgrove, (14 - 16) Highfields School, working with Derbyshire County Council on the Matlock Quarry Project for the "Exploding Tree" entry

This piece of public art was initially conceived through a coloured drawing and then transformed into three dimensions by means of a model, employing coloured, sheathed, electrical wire. The design, its presentation through draftsmanship and by modelling was all of a very high standard. There was unanimous feeling that it had a remarkable quality of joie de vivre.
