The bored young man Onegin shatters Tatiana's romantic illusions when he spurns her love letter. He becomes an outcast when he quarrels with his best friend Lensky and kills him in a duel. Tatiana marries an older man, and Onegin realises too late the love and happiness he has lost. The students attended a performance of Eugene Onegin at the Royal Opera House on 10 June 2004
